Four Decades of Patient Perfection
The distinctive red color weaves through Macallan's history - from founder Alexander Reid's name (literally "The Red") to the 'Choice Old' range in 1903, through Allan Shiach marking vintage bottles with red ribbon in the 1980s. New make spirit from Macallan's small copper stills was laid down in hand-picked oak casks for forty years of slumber, with carefully selected wood shaping unique character and delivering natural color, distinctive aromas, and full flavors. The hand-crafted oak presentation box uses the same sustainable European oak employed for casks, beautifully upholstered with sustainably sourced soft Scottish leather from renowned partners Bridge of Weir Leather.
